Asher Raboy, ConductorMaestro Raboy is an accomplished Music Director/Conductor for symphonies, ballet and musical theater. Under his leadership the Napa Valley Symphony became one of the premiere North Bay area symphony orchestras. A recent review stated that “under Raboy’s crisp direction” the “Top-drawer Napa Valley Symphony” performed Rossini, Reznicek and Bruch in a “scintillating” manner “ “…brilliantly played, with vibrant rhythms and finely articulated phrasing.” As a musical theater conductor he earned five prestigious Dean Goodman Choice Awards for Musical Direction.

Asher Raboy is a composer as well as a conductor. Most recently, Stockton Symphony, under the direction of Peter Jaffe, commissioned and performed The Coming Storm to great acclaim. The Binghamton Philharmonic, commissioned and premiered Phoenix, and the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, under the baton of Imre Pallo, presented his first orchestral composition, Gymnopedies. Maestro Raboy’s Piano Concerto was written for and premiered by Leon Bates, and four symphonic works (A Mystic Valley, Orchestral Dances, King Lear and Of A Distant Love) received their first performances with the Napa Valley Symphony.
