Bassoonist Milan Turkovic originates from an Austro-Croatian family, grew up in Vienna and today is one of the few internationally-known bassoon soloists. He is a member of the Ensemble Wien-Berlin, a woodwind quintet which he formed along with the principal players of the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic, the Concentus Musicus of Vienna and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, New York. For the past ten years, he has also been active as a conductor and has appeared in Vienna, Salzburg, Graz, Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome, London, New York, Osaka and Brisbane with orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony, the Vienna Radio Symphony, the Camerata Salzburg, the Orchestra die Padova, The Rome Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Verdi of Milan and the National Orchestra of Taiwan.
Milan Turkovic has performed as a soloist in almost all the musical centers of the world with numerous renowned orchestras (Vienna Symphony, Stockholm Philharmonic, Bamberg Symphony, The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic, I Solisti Italiani, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Camerata Academica, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Saint Louis Symphony Orchesta and others. |
