Reviews:
“Marian Anderson, who broke the color barrier at the Metropolitan Opera, visited the Redland’s Bowl Tuesday night in the voice and personification of mezzo-soprano Ruby Hinds… Hinds’ was a memorable portrayal which brought to life an unbelievable segment of the history of segregation in this country and of one woman’s determination that skin color not be a barrier to her glorious voice being heard in the major concert halls in this country.” — Nelda Stuck, Redlands Daily Facts

“There were moments when one could, if he chose to close his eyes, almost envision Marian Anderson and her resonant voice as brought forth to the stage by Ruby Hinds.”
— Frank McCoy, Los Angeles Sentinel
